Cornwall Taxi Zone Plan: Drivers Warn of Chaos & Higher Fares

Cornwall Council’s proposal to consolidate its existing taxi zones into a single, Cornwall-wide operating area is sparking significant concern among local taxi drivers, who warn of far-reaching negative consequences for both their livelihoods and the wider community. While the council aims for a “simplified” system, drivers predict a costly “free for all” that could severely impact service availability and affordability, particularly for the most vulnerable residents in rural areas.
